Frequently Asked Questions

About Hair Sparkles

1. How are the hair sparkles installed?

  • Each hair sparkle is meticulously hand-tied to an individual strand of hair. This personalized approach ensures a secure and comfortable fit.

2. How long do hair sparkles last?

  • The lifespan of hair sparkles can vary, lasting from one day to up to 12 months. Sparkles are designed to stay in place until the individual hair they are tied to naturally sheds. Care is taken to select hairs that are not already on their way out.

3. Can I wash my hair with sparkles?

  • Absolutely! You can maintain your regular hair care routine with sparkles. They can withstand heat up to 450 degrees, so feel free to wash, curl, flat iron, and blow-dry your hair as usual. You can also color or bleach your hair, although darker sparkles may lighten slightly with bleach.

5. Can I get this service done in my home?

  • Yes! While individual appointments are hosted in my in-home studio in Rollingwood, you can gather your friends and turn it into a fun and sparkling afternoon event!

6. What about individual appointments?

About Spray Tans

What is a spray tan?

  • A spray tan is a cosmetic application that uses a specially formulated solution to darken the skin temporarily. It provides a tan-like appearance without exposure to harmful UV rays from the sun or tanning beds.

2. How does a spray tan work?

  • During a spray tan session, a fine mist of tanning solution is applied evenly to your skin using a handheld device. The solution contains dihydroxyacetone (DHA), a colorless sugar that interacts with the amino acids in the top layer of your skin to produce a tan.

3. Is spray tanning safe?

  • Yes, spray tanning is generally considered safe. The DHA used in spray tan solutions has been approved by the FDA for external use on the skin. 4. Will I turn orange from a spray tan?

4. Will I turn orange?

  • Modern spray tan solutions are formulated to provide a natural, golden-brown color. The orange tint associated with older tanning products is rare with today's high-quality solutions. Your tan's outcome also depends on your skin type and how well you prepare and maintain your tan.

5. How long does a spray tan last?

  • Typically, a spray tan can last 5 to 10 days, with the color gradually fading as your skin naturally exfoliates. To extend your tan's lifespan, moisturize regularly and avoid activities that may cause excessive sweating.

6. Can I shower after a spray tan?

  • Your first rinse will be 8 hours post rinse for a traditional solution. If using a rapid rinse, you can shower as soon as 2-4 hours post spray. You will take your first soap shower 24 hours after your spray tan.

7. Will a spray tan protect me from the sun's UV rays?

  • No, a spray tan does not provide any protection from UV radiation. Always apply sunscreen when outdoors to protect your skin from harmful sun exposure.

8. Can pregnant women get spray tans?

  • While the DHA in spray tan solutions is generally considered safe for most pregnant women, it's essential to consult your healthcare provider before getting a spray tan during pregnancy to ensure it's safe for your specific situation.

9. Are there any age restrictions for spray tans?

  • Spray tans are generally safe for individuals of all ages. However, at Festival Haze, anyone under 18 requires parental consent AND a parent must be in the room.

10. How should I prepare for a spray tan session?

  • To achieve the best results, exfoliate your skin thoroughly before your appointment and avoid using oils or heavy lotions. Wear loose, dark clothing to your session, and remove all jewelry. Follow any specific pre-tan instructions that you will receive once you book your session (aim to start prepping 48 hours before your tan).

11. Will in-home spray tanning make a mess of my house?

  • Nope! I have a tent I travel with and all the supplies to leave your space just as I found it! Your home will stay clean, and you'll walk away with a beautiful tan.

12. What is a rapid rinse spray tan?

  • A rapid solution spray tan is a type of sunless tanning method that provides quicker development and allows you to shower and resume regular activities sooner than traditional spray tans. The advantage of a rapid solution spray tan is its flexibility regarding when you can shower and go about your daily activities. Traditional spray tans typically require you to wait 6-8 hours or even overnight before your first rinse, which can be less convenient for some individuals. Rapid solutions can be rinsed between 2-4 hours post-spray. Rapid solutions are popular for people with busy schedules or those who want the option to shower sooner.

It's important to follow the specific instructions provided by your spray tan technician or the product manufacturer to achieve the desired results with a rapid spray tan. Additionally, as with any spray tan, proper pre-tan preparation and aftercare are essential to maintain the longevity and quality of your tan.

About Teeth Whitening

1. Why Festival Haze for teeth whitening and not my dentist?

  • Great question! While dentists are experts in oral health and dental procedures, I specialize and have been certified to perform teeth whitening services. Our whitening service can be a more cost-effective alternative to a similar treatment offered at your dental office. If your primary goal is achieving a brighter smile, I can provide a solution that aligns with your budget without compromising on quality. I offer a personalized and comfortable experience tailored to your needs. Unlike a dental office, my space is designed to create a relaxing atmosphere, making your teeth-whitening treatment a pleasant and enjoyable experience (catch up on your favorite shows or audiobooks). I can often provide more flexible scheduling options. You won't be competing for time with other dental procedures, ensuring that your whitening session receives the attention it deserves. I also offer this service after hours and/or in the comfort of your home or office.

2. Will my teeth feel sensitive?

  • I cannot 100% guarantee you will not feel some sensitivity but I use a specially formulated gel made of carbamide peroxide and hydrogen peroxide which is not as harsh as the dental formulation or most over the counter products. This blend has resulted in very few sensitivity issues and when there is one it usually resolves itself in 24 hours or less.

3. Is teeth whitening safe for pregnant women?

  • While teeth whitening is generally safe for most individuals, pregnant women may experience extra sensitivity. We recommend that pregnant women consult their physician before booking a teeth whitening appointment to ensure it's safe for their situation.

4. What about oral piercings?

  • All oral piercings must be removed for your safety during the teeth whitening procedure. This helps prevent any accidental injury or discomfort during the treatment.

5. How soon can I get another treatment?

  • We recommend that clients wait at least one week between teeth whitening treatments to allow your teeth to recover and to ensure the best results. Consistency is key to achieving and maintaining a brighter smile.

6. What results can I expect from teeth whitening?

  • Every client's response to teeth whitening varies, but you should expect an improvement of 2-4 shades lighter in your teeth. In many cases, clients experience even more significant whitening. Please keep in mind that individual results depend on various factors, including the starting shade of your teeth, the type of staining and genetics.

7. Will I need additional sessions for a more significant difference?

  • Yes, while noticeable results can often be achieved in a single session, some clients may require additional sessions to achieve their desired level of whitening. Our team will work with you to determine the best treatment plan for your needs.

8. Do I need to provide a parent consent form if I'm under 18?

  • Yes, if you are under 18, we require a parent or legal guardian to consent to the teeth whitening procedure. Your safety and well-being are our top priority.

9. Is there an age restriction for teeth whitening?

  • Yes, we do not provide teeth whitening for patients under 12. This restriction ensures the safety of our younger clients.

Cancellation policy: A 50% deposit is required for every booking. Cancellations within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment will not be refunded.
